Rocky has excellent traction on all surfaces, thanks to Venom's "Ridgeline" tyres and rim locks.
Those are 2.2 inch (55.88mm) diameter wheels (this chassis is classed as a 2.2 chassis because of the wheel sizes). Nothing sticks out of the wheel hubs!
Believe it or not, memory foam is used to fill the internal tyre space. But for competition "crawling", up to 1kg of specially shaped wheel weights can be added internally - to each wheel! This gives magnificent traction, at a huge cost of inertia. This means it takes MUCH more power to accelerate or decelerate, owing to the wheel weights.
Wheel weights also dramatically lower the centre of gravity.
The "gap" at the very top left of the picture is the battery bay - the battery is clamped beneath the core board for ultimate safety.
